On the Street in New York
Jane Mann
$200.00
Dimensions: 12 x 16 x 0.6
Media: limited edition archival print of digital photograph
Artist Statement : I love street art and graffiti. The portrait, the vibrant colors, the grillwork on the door caught my eye. The woman walking past ignores the wall. I thought she was typical of residents who walk down a street daily and quit noticing their neighborhood.

Urban Rainbow
Cindy Mehr
$900.00
Dimensions: 24 x 24
Media: oil, textured spray paint, metallic leaf on canvas
Artist Statement : I juxtapose sweeping, amorphic, rainbow-colored shapes against grey/brown geometric patterns. I like making use of enigma, ambiguity, and complexity with the intent of eliciting questions. In this painting a rainbow ribbon swirls through an urban area. Is it gas escaping from a manhole cover, or a splash of colors brightening up a dull cityscape?

The city
Bob Moskowitz
Dimensions: 40 x 120 x 2
Media: Oil Painting
Artist Statement : Marjorie and Bob Moskowitz created a new persona, (MB Mosk) when they began collaborating, separate from their individual studio practices. These works are a curious hybrid only slightly resembling their own work. The process attempts to create a seamless blending to appear as a single artist has produced the painting. They draw on their shared approach to looking at the peculiar nature of people and the world. Their sense of irony and humor is a vehicle to allude to a deeper meaning below the surface.

Juror's Choice
Dimensions: 20 x 26 x 0.5
Media: Mixed, crayon, found images, original photographs, other
Artist Statement : I have loved urban culture my entire life -- wanting to move to the big city was a childhood wish. And I have lived in several cities, in various places. Now when I travel, I try to capture the life and breath of the places I get to visit. The busy activity of the streets, the secrets behind the windows, and the surprises to be found in the private corners. I use my own photographic images, there is no use of digital art effects or scanning, no reproductions.

The Brightest Corner
Oleg Shvets
$1,150.00
Dimensions: 14 x 11 x 0.5
Media: Oil on canvas
Artist Statement : What do we feel when we walk down a dark street at night? Either it's a street of a small sleeping town, a big busy city, or maybe a dark alley of our lives, when we can't find a way out of some situation... and how quickly and joyfully the heart begins to beat when our eyes finally see the light! And we are ready to run there as fast as possible, just because there is light there. ”This is the message we have heard from Him and announce to you, that God is Light, and in Him there is no darkness at all.“ (1st John 1:5) Come to the Light! Come to Jesus!

ancien et moderne
Nick Smith
$384.00
Dimensions: 10 x 20 x 1
Media: Digital media printed on museum-quality UV resistant acrylic
Artist Statement : If you live in North America, you owe it to yourself to see the way Montreal uses building facades to highlight the form of old masonry against the color possibilities of modern glass panel architecture. A nonstop juxtaposition and integration of old and new, stone and light, bitter cold and endearing warmth. Unbelievably inspiring.

Apartment trees
Peter
$100.00
Dimensions: 25 x 17
Media: photography
Artist Statement : As I come from an editorial-news-background, street photography would seem a natural artistic avenue for me. But I have not, until very recently worked much in the specialty. A November photo trip to Cuba changed all that. The images submitted here all came from very early morning or late evening walks around Old Havana, taking in street life and attempting to capture the pulse of the city in pixels. The architecture of Havana is heavily Spanish influenced. Often bright and colorful facades draw the eye. But frequently the gaiety hides the rot beneath. Here a building on a busy downtown street adjacent has begun its return to a natural state. Rebar that once reinforced concrete pierces the sky like a thorny crown while trees have displaced glass in windows. Havana residents often caution not to walk in the streets as drivers are none too observant of speed limits. But, they add, don't walk under building overhangs, as concrete often falls from crumbling edifices.
